In the second phase, the turbine and generator<br />

will be d<strong>is</strong>assembled, inspected, repaired and reassembled.<br />

A refurb<strong>is</strong>hed turbine rotor will be<br />

installed, and the generator rotor will be cleaned,<br />

inspected and tested.<br />

In the third phase, a new inlet air filter house,<br />

inlet ducting, exhaust stack and turbine<br />

enclosures will be installed. Electrical conduit and<br />

wiring will be run throughout the new enclosures<br />

to monitor and control critical functions of the<br />

the new enclosures. While all of th<strong>is</strong> work <strong>is</strong><br />

occurring, KIUC personnel will repair the GT2<br />

transformer. When all work <strong>is</strong> complete in<br />

November of th<strong>is</strong> year, GT2 will not require<br />

another overhaul for an estimated 10 years. Until<br />

the overhaul <strong>is</strong> complete, KIUC will do its best to<br />

ensure all other generating units remain available<br />

to maintain the balance of supply and demand.<br />
