Programs and Case Studies<br />

Over the past year the Young Leaders Group hosted a number of exciting<br />

programs that sparked insightful discussions and highlighted best practices of<br />

new initiatives and development projects, including: “Hollywood & Vine Case<br />

Study” and “Revitalizing Historic Corridors.”<br />

Partnership Forums<br />

The <strong>ULI</strong> LA YLG Partnership Forum provides an ongoing opportunity to share and<br />

discuss with a group of peers the issues that real estate professionals face each<br />

day. We would like to thank each of our moderators for their time and commitment<br />

to mentor the next generation of leaders: Jeff Gault, Sunbrook Partners; Lew<br />

Horne, CBRE; Greg Gotthardt, Alvarez and Marsal; David Malmuth, David<br />

Education<br />

The YLG hosts a variety of workshops to educate its membership about<br />

current trends in real estate and help them expand their professional expertise.<br />

Workshops from this past year included: “Debt: Where to find it in 2010,” “Intro<br />

to Receivership,” “Forbearance, DIL, & Workouts: How to Banks Decide?”, “Asset<br />

Management: Who, What, Why, and How?”, and “ABC’s of BID’s”.<br />

LEADERS GROUP<br />

The mission of the <strong>ULI</strong> <strong>Los</strong> <strong>Angeles</strong> Young Leaders Group (YLG)<br />

is to create opportunities for young professionals to develop skills<br />

and build relationships that will help them advance in their careers,<br />

to help foster a connection to the great <strong>ULI</strong> community, and to<br />

gain an understanding of thoughtful land use and development<br />

practices.<br />

Leading the Way Breakfast Series<br />

YLG continued its successful monthly breakfast series, titled “Leading the<br />

Way”, which provided an up close and personal opportunity to sit down with<br />

top real estate industry professionals and gain insight into leadership, career<br />

paths, success, lessons learned, and what <strong>ULI</strong> means to them. Thank you to<br />

Bud Ovrom of the <strong>Los</strong> <strong>Angeles</strong> Department of Building & Safety, Michael<br />

Lesser of Eastdil Secured, Jonathan Genton of Genton Property Group, James<br />
