I hope everyone had a
merry and safe Christmas.
The weather sure didn’t
cooperate for good fishing
or hunting, but a lot of us
just jumped right out into
the wind, rain, and muck
anyway.
Of course all I managed
to do was get wet and
muddy. It was great to be
out anyway.
Perry Hull may have
had his best Christmas
ever. Chickamauga let
Perry catch his best bass
ever, a whopping 9.6
pound largemouth. Now
that is a pig!
In the McKee Outdoor
Tournament Saturday out
of Poland Creek the fish
on Loudoun came out to
play. Younstie and Veal
took first with a three-fish
limit that weighed in at
12.9 pounds. Frank and
Tester got second with
10.9 pounds. Coffee got
lunker with a 6.7-pound
largemouth. The best part
to me was all the small-

This Saturday is out of
Toqua.
The Bat Creek Mafia
has been giving the ducks
a hard time. They are
even starting to look like
the Duck Commanders
with beards and all. I
guess I’d have to be the
Uncle Si. Old, grumpy
and always causing trouble.
A little bit colder
weather and the duck
hunting should get really
good.
You only have until January
6 to get your freezer
full of venison. I really
hate to see deer season
close. I immediately start
thinking about next season
to get over the blues.
We still have a few more
days, so make the most of
it.

Venison
Meatloaf
2 eggs
1 can (8 ounces) tomato
sauce
1 medium onion, finely
chopped
1 cup dry bread crumbs
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1-1/2 pounds ground
venison
2 tablespoons brown
sugar
2 tablespoons spicy
brown mustard
2 tablespoons white
vinegar
In a large bowl, lightly
beat eggs; add tomato
sauce, onion, crumbs,
salt and pepper. Add
venison and mix well.
Press into an ungreased
9-in. x 5-in. loaf pan.
Combine brown sugar,
mustard and vinegar;
pour over meat loaf.
Bake, uncovered, at 350°
for 70 minutes or until a
meat thermometer reads
160°.

Perry Hull did not mind going out in the cold for
