CELEBRATES BRuHn<br />

The Yamaha <strong>Music</strong> and Wellness Institute<br />

(YMWI) recently created a memorial fund<br />

honoring the work of late founder Karl Bruhn.<br />

Widely acknowledged as the “father of music<br />

making and wellness,” Bruhn, along with<br />

YMWI President and CEO Dr. Barry Bittman,<br />

championed the initial research that<br />

established recreational music making as an<br />

effective wellness strategy. All contributions<br />

to the Karl T. Bruhn Memorial Research<br />

Fund will be used exclusively for research.<br />

“During Karl’s tenure at YMWI, he and<br />

Barry produced convincing and persuasive<br />

research to prove the strong connection between<br />

wellness and music making,” said<br />

of Yamaha Corp. of America and the recently<br />

GCI names Wilder VP of Marketing<br />

GCI Technologies has appointed Mark Wilder as<br />

vice president of marketing.<br />

The former director of marketing for Samson,<br />

Wilder will report to GCI CEO Artie Cabasso. He<br />

will also redevelop the company’s creative marketing<br />

strategies and expand artist relations efforts.<br />

“GCI’s brands are poised for growth, and I look<br />

forward to helping realize their potential,” Wilder said.<br />
