debates, and as a result the budgets for CDBG and HOME reflect cuts <strong>of</strong> 20% and 15%,<br />

respectively. This will reduce the amount <strong>of</strong> funds available for administration/operations, as<br />

these expenditures are limited by statute to no more than 20% <strong>of</strong> the CDBG grant and 10% <strong>of</strong> the<br />

HOME grant. Similarly the amount available for public (human) services is limited to 15% <strong>of</strong> the<br />

CDBG grant. To <strong>of</strong>fset the anticipated reductions, the Division has reduced its operating budget<br />

for FY 2011/2012 by reallocating half <strong>of</strong> the Housing Rehabilitation Specialist position’s hours to<br />

the Building Safety Program.<br />

FY 2011/2012 Operating Budget<br />

The Department Management Program will continue to consist <strong>of</strong> the Director <strong>of</strong> Community<br />

Development and one administrative support staff. The proposed operating budget for FY<br />

2010/2011 and FY 2011/2012 is similar to the budget for the prior year.
