MOST WANTED<br />

Ignacio Coronel<br />

Villareal is alleged to be<br />

the head of a major drugtrafficking<br />

organization,<br />

which is based in<br />

Guadalajara, Jalisco,<br />

Mexico. Villareal was born<br />

Feb. 1, 1954 and is about 5’3”<br />

tall. He weighs 145 pounds<br />

and has brown hair and brown eyes.<br />

His aliases include “Nacho” and<br />

“King of Ice.” Although the Ignacio<br />

Coronel Villareal Mexican Drug<br />

Trafficking Organization, or ICV-<br />

MDTO, is based in Mexico, the scope<br />

of its influence and operations penetrate<br />

throughout the United States,<br />

Mexico, and several other European,<br />

Central American, and South<br />

American countries. <strong>The</strong> ICV-MDTO<br />

has been growing in power since the<br />

early 1990s and is now considered<br />

one of the most powerful drug-trafficking<br />

organizations in Mexico. <strong>The</strong><br />

gang has been known to work directly<br />

with Colombian sources of supply<br />

crime<br />

cocaine. <strong>The</strong> organization is<br />

also reported to be the forerunner<br />

in Mexico for producing<br />

ton quantities of<br />

methamphetamine in clandestine<br />

laboratories in<br />

Mexico.<br />

On Dec. 17, 2003,Villareal<br />

was indicted by a federal grand jury<br />

in the Western District of Texas.<br />

Additionally, on Dec. 19, 2003, a federal<br />

arrest warrant was issued in the<br />

Western District of Texas, El Paso<br />

Division, charging Villareal with conspiracy<br />

to possess a controlled substance<br />

with intent to distribute and<br />

conspiracy to import a controlled<br />

substance.<br />

<strong>The</strong> U.S. Department of State,<br />

Bureau for International Narcotics<br />

and Law Enforcement Affairs, under<br />

its Narcotics Rewards Program, is<br />

sponsoring a reward of up to $5 million<br />

for info leading directly to the<br />

arrest and/or conviction of Villareal.<br />

was reportedly burglarized sometime<br />

reportedly robbed a man around 7:40 p.m.<br />

Sept. 26 in the 200 block of Dickinson<br />

Street in Encinitas.<br />

HOME BURGLARIZED A residence in<br />

the 500 block of Hidden Ridge Court in<br />

Encinitas was reportedly burglarized<br />

sometime after 4 p.m. Sept. 26.<br />

NACHO TACO Filiberto’s in the 400 block<br />

of South <strong>Coast</strong> Highway 101 was reportedly<br />

robbed around 4 a.m. Sept. 26.<br />

BIKE STOLEN A yellow Trek bicycle was<br />

reportedly stolen from the downtown<br />

Carlsbad <strong>Coast</strong>er station sometime last<br />

weekend.<br />

RESPECT YOUR ELDERS A 61-year-old<br />

man was reportedly robbed around 10 p.m.<br />

Sept. 27 in the 200 block of Center Drive in<br />

San Marcos.<br />

TOUGH GUY A strong arm robbery of a<br />

man’s cell phone reportedly occurred<br />

around 10 p.m. Sept. 27 at Windward<br />

and North <strong>Coast</strong> Highway 101 in<br />
