Institutional cost effectiveness<br />

Improving cost-effectiveness – possible responses:<br />

– More funding on the basis of graduation rates<br />

– Reduction of public subsidies for students who remain too long in the system<br />

– Conversion of loans into grants if students graduate within nominal time<br />

– The elimination of low enrolment and/or duplicated programmes with possible<br />

redeployment of academics across education programmes<br />

– Rationalizing faculty to respond to student contractions<br />

– Increasing use of shared facilities<br />
