Volunteer Opportunities
As most of you know, one of golf ’s four
major championships is once again coming
to the Carolinas. The venerable Ocean
Course at Kiawah Island will host the 2012
PGA Championship in August. In order to
conduct the most professional event as possible,
the PGA of America and Carolinas
PGA Section need your help.
The CPGA is searching for PGA Professionals
to volunteer their time during
the championship week from Sunday to
Sunday, August 5-12 and serve in a few different capacities which will
involve interacting with competitors and patrons. Those who served
at the 2007 Senior PGA Championship at Kiawah will receive priority
registration, as will this year’s volunteers for the 2017 PGA Championship
at Quail Hollow GC.
Volunteer opportunities:
- Golf instruction (air conditioned)
- Practice facilities (putting/chipping/range)
- Practice round starting tee pairings boards

The Section will be securing CPGA Professionals to volunteer for the
two Wyndham Championship Pro-Am tournaments on Monday &
Wednesday, August 13 & 15. Individuals will walk and interact with
teams of amateurs and a PGA Tour member on the course.
This is the second year that we have supported the championship in
such a fashion. Those that were involved in 2011 thoroughly enjoyed
themselves. They shared a few stories, gave a few golf tips, and made
a few new friends. It sounds like a typical day for a PGA Professional,
doesn’t it? However, there was one main difference...it all took place
inside the ropes at a PGA Tour event right next to a renowned PGA
Tour member.
