Colorado is such an awesome place to move to, you will
have no trouble fi nding it. Interstate 25 (north/south) and
Interstate 70 (east/west) are major arteries through Colorado.
Interstate 25 runs through Colorado Springs, so that is where
you will want to connect. You will have to come through one
of the neighboring states of Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas,
Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona or Utah to get here;
unless you fl y and have everything shipped.
Fun
Denver International Airport is just a few hours from
anywhere in the country with hundreds of fl ights a day,
and there are several direct fl ights in and out of Colorado
Springs as well. Travel by train is sort of an option, Amtrak only
offers a bus stop in Colorado Springs, though, so you would
have to get off the train and onto a bus in Denver or another
town along the route, depending on your city of departure and
route. Planes, trains and automobiles are all options, but more
people choose the family car as the mode of transportation when
moving to the area.
If you do drive, it will be a trip to remember. Getting here
is half the fun. No matter which way you approach Colorado
Springs you will be on a journey lined with picture postcard
scenery along the way. If you come in the winter, beware of the
changing patterns of weather and the force of the snowstorms
that strand unprepared travelers every year. There is a downside
to the state having an abundance of recreational snow. Luckily,
with the Internet, it is easier than ever to plan your trip and be
aware of road conditions affected by weather and construction
during your move. An atlas and current state road maps will be
items you’ll want to have on hand to plan your trip and make
the journey to your new home in Colorado Springs.
