partly cloudy days.
Demographics
Colorado Springs is Colorado’s second most
populated city, 402,417 estimated 2007 population.
El Paso County, which encompasses and includes
Colorado Springs, has an estimated 2007 population of
595,861. There are more than 1 million people within
a 45-minute radius. Add the Denver metropolitan area,
an hour north, and you are looking at more than
3 million people.
Ethnicity, according to the city of Colorado
Springs, is predominately white, with about 14 percent
Hispanic American/Latino, 6 percent Black/African
American, 2.6 percent Asian, 1 percent American
Indian/Alaska Native, and 6 percent other; 4 percent
listed two or more ethnic groups.
As for land area, the city of Colorado Springs
covers 194 square miles, with more than 14,000 acres
of parklands. The community though, is much larger.
