kenneth gRAhAMe (1859–1932) was a British bank secretary who<br />
had written The Wind in the Willows for his only child, Alastair.<br />
l. fRAnk BAuM (1856–1919) published numerous children’s books and<br />
is best known for his hugely popular Oz series.<br />
JAne sMiley is the author of more than ten works of fiction, including<br />
