• introduce the characters and setting at the beginning of the story;<br />

• develop an interesting plot with a beginning, middle, and end that<br />

follows a logical sequence;<br />

• use an engaging voice and dialogue to make the story come alive;<br />

and<br />

• write an ending that resolves the story’s conflict in a satisfying<br />
