Extinguisher Media: Dry chemical or alcohol foam, carbon
dioxide, water in the form of fog. Use
extinguishing media suitable for
surrounding fires.
Special Fire Fighting Procedures: Wear full protective equipment
use a portable fire extinguisher. Use
water spray to cool all nearby fire
exposed surfaces.
Unusual Fire and Explosion Hazard: Vapours heavier than air may collect in
low areas where ventilation is poor.
May form flammable mixtures with air
at or above the flash point.
SECTION (6): TOXICOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
ROUTE OF ENTRY INFORMATION: Skin, eye contact and inhalation
Irritancy: Irritating to skin, eyes, and
respiratory system.
Effects of Accute Exposure to Product: Product exposure may irritate
skin and eyes. Prolonged
inhalation of vapours or mists
may cause respiratory irritation,
headaches, nausea, etc. Also
may be harmful if absorbed
through skin. Ingestion may
cause gastrointestinal and
abdominal discomfort, and
symptoms similar to inhalation.
Small amounts of liquid aspirated
into lungs during ingestion or
from vomiting may cause mild to
severe pulmonary injury.
SECTION (6): TOXICOLOGICAL PROPERTIES (cont'd)
Effect of Chronic Exposure to Product: Prolonged or repeated exposure
may cause skin irritation or
dermatitis. Also may cause blood
disorders through skin absorption
of ethylene glycol monobutyl
ether (based on animal test data).
Exposure Limits: See Section 2 under Hazardous
Ingredients.
SECTION (7): PREVENTATIVE MEASURES
Respiratory Protection:
If exposed to vapours or mists, and depending on the exposure level, wear an
approved half-face or full face dust/mist and organic vapour respirator.
Engineering Controls:
Good general ventilation or local exhaust ventilation for product used in confined
areas.
Protective Gloves:
Nitrile, neoprene or viton gloves.
Eye Protection:
Use Chemical goggles, safety goggles or face shield.
Disposal Procedures for Spills or Leaks:
Wear protective equipment. Extinguish all nearby sources of ignition. Keep material
away from sewers. Dike and contain large spills. Pump spill into an approved,
flammable waste container. For small spills soak up with a suitable absorbent such as
clay, soil, or commercially available absorbents and scoop int an approved flammable
waste container.
Waste Disposal Method:
Reuse if possible, or otherwise dispose of in accordance with all local, provincial or
federal regulations.
Storage and Handling Procedures:
Use good industrial hygiene. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Avoid
breathing vapours or mists. Use with adequate ventilation. Store in a cool dry place
away from all sources of ignition and incompatibles. Keep container tightly closed
when not in use. Use proper grounding procedures when handling. Empty container
may contain flammable residues/vapours. Store at temperatures below 30 o C.
Other Protective Equipment:
Rubber apron or long sleeved clothing. Eye wash and shower are recommended in
the immediate work area. .../5

SECTION (8): FIRST AID PROCEDURES
EYES: Flush with plenty of water for 15 minutes. Get medical attention.
SKIN: Wash well with plenty of water for 15 minutes. If skin irritation
develops contact a physician.
INHALATION: Remove to fresh air. If breathing is difficult give oxygen. Call a
physician.
INGESTION: Give plenty of water to drink. Do not induce vomiting. Call a
physician.
