The present study was undertaken to isolate Trichodcmo isolates from rhizospherc soil<br />

c;~mples collected from major groundnut growing areas of four districrs (Ananthapur,<br />

Chittoor, Cuddapah, and Kurnool) of Andhra Pradesh, and two districts (Kolar, and Tumkur)<br />

of Karnataka under the National Agricultural Technology I'roject (NATP) on "Allatoxin<br />

Contamlnat~on In Groundnut: Mapping and Managenlent in (iularat. Andhra Pridcsli, and<br />

Adjoining Areas".<br />

The objectives of this study were:<br />

1. to Isolate Trichoderma isolates from vanous groundnut-prowing areas of Andhra<br />

Pradesh, and Karnataka.<br />

2. to identify the isolates up to specles level uslng morpholog~cal tra~ts, and<br />

3. to evaluate their antagonism against A. fluvus w~th the object~ve of ~dentifying highly<br />

antagonislic isolates that could be used as a bltxontrol agents for preventing<br />

preharvest aflatox~n contamination of groundnut.
