photographs documents while they are being moved by
some form of transport mechanism. The document
transport mechanism is connected to a film-transport
mechanism, and the film also moves during exposure so
there is no difference in the rate of relative movement
between the film and the image of the document. Both

* An audio recording utilizing digital magnetic tape. The
3.81-mm wide high-coercivity metal particle or barium
ferrite metal particle (Mp) cassette housed tape is pulled
across a rotary head for the recording of helical-scan
tracks. Originally expected to replace compact cassettes
in the consumer market, it has acquired a remarkable
acceptance in (semi-) professional applications.
