It is an essential control device. Not surprisingly then, Philips offers many different types of optics, each one designed to perform a specific function. But which optic is best for the particular situation at hand? The function of the area to be illuminated and the task to be performed usually determine the optic and luminaire you need, while the ceiling system often determines the dimensions of the luminaire. The number of lamps and the optic selection depends on the importance of the task to be performed in the area, and the area's dimensions. In addition, other requirements, such as image, efficiency and aesthetics, will influence the decision. Glare control Glare is one important factor which often influences the performance of lighting.There are in general two aspects described in the European standard EN12464-1. (See page 14 and page 17 lighting for workstations with display screen equipment). Optic description: Patented OLC optic with 3dimensional lamellae with concave structure on the upper side made of high-reflecting (H) aluminium, especially designed for TL5 lamps. Available in semi-high gloss (D7), high gloss (C7). These optics create a delta-shaped light distribution, have a optimum efficiency and provide all-round glare control. They conform to the European norm EN 12464-1. This optic creates an asymmetrical light distribution, making it ideal for illuminating walls and displays/shelves. It can be combined very effectively with the existing M6 and M2 optics in one project. Applications: Offices, shops, schools Optic description: Optic with matt anodised side reflectors, specially developed top reflector and flat, profiled lamellae made from high-quality aluminium. The light distribution from this optic has been optimised. It is bidirectional so that the maximum amount of light is produced at an angle of _ = 30˚ or 45˚. It has been specially designed to provide the perfect lighting for shelves on both sides of an aisle in department stores and supermarkets. Applications: Shops Optic description: Optic with matt anodised side reflectors and flat, profiled lamellae made from high-quality aluminium. This optic has a distinctive appearance, provides optical guidance and has a high efficiency. Applications: Shops, schools, general applications Optic description:.
