Faith Formation for Children
Faith Formation classes are held on Sundays, 9:00 – 10:15 a.m., for children
ages 4 to 13 (i.e., pre-K through 8 th grade) during the school year. If you would
like more information, or to register, contact the parish office.
Baptism for Infants and Children
Parishioners should call the parish office to schedule a baptismal preparation
meeting. Baptismal preparation is required for first-time parents. Ordinarily,
both godparents are Roman Catholic. If there is at least one Catholic godparent, a
baptized Christian of another denomination may serve as a Christian Witness.
Anointing of the Sick
Please notify the parish office when someone is hospitalized or homebound,
and a staff member will visit. A parishioner who is ill can request the
Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick and Holy Communion either at the
hospital or at home. When someone cannot attend mass because of illness,
notify the parish office and Communion may be brought to the home.
Marriage
Any couple is welcome to be married at Corpus Christi, provided at least one
party is Catholic. Registration in the parish is not required. Call the parish
office at least 6 months in advance of the wedding date.
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
The RCIA is for non-Catholic adults who wish to become Catholic and for
Catholic adults who may have been baptized but have not received other
sacraments. Call the parish office for more information.

Scripture Reflection
In today’s 1 st reading, we learn that the disciples were initially afraid of Paul, because they could not believe
that the man who had persecuted so many Christians was now a believer, one of them. Yet, through God’s
grace, he had been transformed. The disciples’ fears should remind us of our own. We often wonder if
individuals who had previously been against us are now really for us. Words of assurance are never sufficient;
only actions can truly reveal the heart’s intentions, a lesson that all of us can take seriously. Paul proved
himself to be a disciple by the way he conducted his life; how do we prove ourselves to be Christ’s followers in
this world?

This weekend we as a parish will gather together to
celebrate with two of our children as they receive their First
Communion.
I congratulate Fiona Nealis and Gianna Pilla on this special
day. I don’t know about all of you but I can remember my
own First Communion like it was yesterday. I remember it as
being a wonderful experience. And I do hope that our two
young ladies will have that same experience as they approach
the altar today and every time they gather at the table of the
Lord.
So let us pray for Gianna and Fiona and their families – let
us pray for all of us and the Church everywhere, that we might
always remain united to Jesus who is the True Vine.

Faith Formation and Children’s Liturgy of the Word
Thank You’s
This Sunday is the last Sunday for Faith Formation classes and
Children’s Liturgy of the Word. We truly appreciate our
teachers and CLOW leaders, substitutes and other volunteers
for their dedication and help during this school year. “It takes
a village” to shepherd our children in their faith formation.

Seminarian Collection
The annual collection is scheduled this weekend, May 5/6,
2012. This collection supports the archdiocese’s effort to
form and educate men to become priests. All money collected
goes directly to educational costs related to seminary
formation. Each seminarian is formed pastorally, humanly,
intellectually, and spiritually to serve the people of the
Archdiocese of Baltimore. It costs around $30,000.00 a year
to educate 1 seminarian, with the cost of education
Archdiocesan seminarians at over $1 million dollars per year.
Please be generous, this is one investment that provides years
of returns!

meaningful way? Consider being part of the Corpus Christi
Pastoral Council, a leadership body charged with providing
direction for the development of the Parish, assessing present
parish needs and developing plans for the future. The Pastoral
Council is always sensitive to the direction, cultural and
educational needs and spiritual development of our faith
community. If you are interested in contributing to this

Charismatic Prayer Meeting
Sunday, May 6th from 1:30 to 4 pm at St Philip Neri in
Linthicum, Walter Matthews, Executive Director of the National
Service Center, will speak on Reconciliation, the beginning of a
five-year preparation leading up to the 50th Anniversary the
Catholic Charismatic Renewal, 1967-2017.
An Afternoon & Evening with N.T. Wright
Biblical scholar Rt. Rev. N.T. (Tom) Wright will be speaking at
St. Mary’s Seminary & University on Friday, May 11, 2012.
Hosted by the Ecumenical Institute of Theology, “An Afternoon
& Evening with N.T. Wright” offers two seminars, each focused
on one of his most recent books—Simply Jesus (afternoon) and

The Fifth Annual Boundary Block Party
The fifth annual Boundary Block Party will be on May 12, 1-4 pm
on Pennsylvania Avenue at Presstman Street. Every spring, we
celebrate and connect Bolton Hill, Druid Heights, Madison Park,
Upton, Sandtown, and Reservoir Hill. This year's block party will
feature gospel music with the Expressions of Faith Gospel Choir,
Funk with J Pope and Funk Friday, Line Dancing with Elder
Harris, Spoken Word with PATHS, and music with DJ Knight
Magic. Plus free food, face painting, walking tours of Historic
Pennsylvania Avenue, information about community
organizations, free health screenings and a public art project. Join

St. Thomas Aquinas Hosts Mother’s Day Concert
Blessing from Heaven “Mother’s Day Concert” - This program is
free. Kimberly Christie (soprano), Catherine Mikelson (cello),
Melissa Wertheimer (flute), Adrienne Knauer (harp), and Hsiao
Ying, piano will perform on Sunday, May 13 at 3 PM at St.

Elder Law Symposium
The State Bar Leadership Academy will be hosting a free Elder
Law symposium on May 19 at Anne Arundel Community
