Regional Vice President Awards Winners<br />

Regional Vice President, John Shaler, presented the following<br />
Regional Vice President Medal Awards during the<br />
Special Events Meeting held on 7 June <strong>2011</strong> at the Crowne<br />
Plaza Hotel.<br />

Steve’s contribution to<br />
the Pikes Peak Post and<br />
Frontier Post during<br />
2009-<strong>2011</strong> is exemplified<br />
by the continued<br />
increase in Individual Membership. His achievements to<br />
promote the partnership <strong>of</strong> industry and public sector are<br />
making our <strong>Society</strong> significantly better today.<br />

SAME leadership and<br />
accomplishment during<br />
2010-<strong>2011</strong>.<br />
CAPT Grip displayed<br />
a tireless dedication<br />
and commitment to<br />
the Pikes Peak Post<br />
throughout the year<br />
in key initiatives. He<br />
enabled Board Members to strive further in supporting<br />
SAME’s Strategic Plan. Under CAPT Grip’s leadership, the<br />
Post received all streamer awards and was recognized as a<br />
Distinguished Post.<br />

Medal for outstanding SAME leadership and accomplishment<br />
during 2010-<strong>2011</strong>.<br />

MAJ Lovell’s high level<br />
<strong>of</strong> commitment, endless hours in preparing the Streamer<br />
Nominations, and leadership, the Post was recognized as a<br />
<strong>2011</strong> Distinguished Post Recognition.<br />
SAME Honors Ceremony Honors Scott<br />
Prosuch and Josh Aldred<br />
The <strong>Society</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>American</strong> <strong>Military</strong> Engineers (SAME) annually<br />
recognizes individuals, organizations, companies and<br />
public agencies for their contributions to SAME and the<br />
military engineering pr<strong>of</strong>ession. These include soldiers,<br />
sailors, airman and Marines from the active, guard, and<br />
civilian reserve forces; coast guardsmen from the Department<br />
<strong>of</strong> Homeland Security; Public Health Service <strong>of</strong>ficers<br />
from the department <strong>of</strong> Health and Human Services; civil<br />
service workers from DOD and other federal agencies; and<br />
contractors working in the A/E/C, environmental and supporting<br />
industries.<br />
Their remarkable performance is unsurpassed in defending<br />
the freedoms that we enjoy as <strong>American</strong>s, in rebuilding<br />
U.S. cities and towns ravaged by natural disasters, and<br />
in reconstructing war-torn nations far from our shores.<br />
Our military, civilian, and contractor teams have dedicated<br />
themselves to the mission, never wavering in their collective<br />
resolve to achieve a job well done.<br />
There are many SAME members who have performed well<br />
and achieved outstanding success. Those individuals, organizations,<br />
companies and public agencies recognized here<br />
today are the “best <strong>of</strong> the best.” We congratulate them on<br />
their achievements and thank them for their efforts.
