It’s a question I am often asked; and the answer
is not quite as straightforward as you might
imagine.
Acquisitions to the library’s collection are
made on an ongoing basis and not only reflect the
needs of our congregation, but the business of
both the publishing and film industries. I buy
items for adults and children in three different
media—books, audio books and film.
They are purchased from a broad array of
sources. Acquisition actually takes up a lot of my
time! But I do love the challenge. I’ve always
loved “shopping,” but it’s really much more than that.
What’s New in the Library?
I read professional journals and lots of
newspapers and magazine reviews as well as a lot
of online information sources in selecting what is
useful, appropriate and popular among our library
patrons. I try to keep everybody happy. If there is
something you’d like but can’t find—ask me. I’ll
do what I can to get it for you.
In the meantime, here is a brief sampling of
recent acquisitions. And there are so many more.
Stop by and see for yourself. It’s your library!
