Advanced Search When added to a template and visited, a standard search looks like this. Users enter text, and click the search button to search for the types of content you allow. For examples of setting up a standard search, see ”Advanced Properties Search Examples” on page 109 In the advanced search, users choose which content types they want to search with. You decide which content types are available, then users can modify your selections and perform their search. To allow a site visitor to choose which content types to search, the Advanced Hyperlink must be turned on, otherwise users are only able to search the properties you have enabled. Using Standard and Advanced Searches Together You can use a mix of the standard search and advanced search to force people to search by certain properties while giving them a choice on others. For example, you want users to always search Content, but you want to give them the additional option to search forms, files, images. For examples of setting up a a mixed search, see ”Advanced Properties Search Examples” on page 109 Advanced Properties Search Examples The following are some examples of different ways to configure the Search Server Control using the advanced properties.
