FT2232HQ-MINI-MODULE<br />
The MiniCore RCM5700 module packs a<br />
rich embedded feature set on an ultra-compact<br />
mini PCI Express form factor. As an<br />
added benefit the MiniCore RCM5700 offers<br />
the lowest profile of any embedded<br />
solution. At only 5cm in height, the<br />
RCM5700 delivers unprecedented flexibility<br />
to place network connectivity anywhere onto<br />
a customer-designed mother board.<br />
The standard development kit has the es-<br />
sentials needed to design a microproces-<br />
sor-based system, and includes a complete Dynamic C software development system. The<br />
RCM5700 development kit also contains a development board that will allow evaluation of the<br />
RCM5700.<br />
Digital I/O and serial accessory boards will help to illustrate the RCM5700 features by running<br />
the sample programs included with Dynamic C. You will also be able to write and test software<br />
for the RCM5700 modules, including Ethernet or TCP/IP applications.<br />

The USB-RS232-PCB is a USB to RS232 level<br />
serial UART converter PCB incorporating FTDI’s<br />
FT232RQ USB to Serial UART interface IC device<br />
which handles all the USB signalling and proto-<br />
cols. The PCB provides a fast, simple way to connect devices with a<br />
RS232 level serial interface to USB.<br />
Each device contains a small internal electronic circuit board, utilising<br />
the FT232R plus a USB type-A connector. The integrated electronics<br />
also include an RS232 level shifter plus Tx and Rx LEDs which give a<br />
visual indication of UART traffic.<br />
The PCB is USB powered and USB 2.0 full speed compatible. Each PCB supports a data<br />
transfer rate up to 1 Mbaud and supports the FTDIChip-ID, with a unique USB serial number<br />
programmed into the FT232R. This feature can be used to create a security or password<br />
protected file transfer access using the PCB.<br />

UB232R Mini Evaluation<br />

Based on the FT232RQ device, the UB232R supports<br />
RTS/CTS hardware handshaking and is powered<br />
from the USB port. Serial data communication<br />
is possible at up to 3MBaud at TTL level. In addition,<br />
two of the EEPROM configurable CBUS pins<br />
of the FT232R are brought out allowing the<br />
UB232R to be used to provide clock signals to external logic or signal traffic indicator LEDs.<br />

The 78Q21x3-DB is a design example<br />
for a 10/100BASE-TX Mbit/second Fast Ethernet MII<br />
Interface adaptor. A 78Q2123 or 78Q2133 MicroPHY<br />
transceiver provides the network physical interface and<br />
MII (Medium Independent Interface) interface.<br />
Full-featured MII management functions are included<br />
along with an extended register set. The MicroPHY interfaces<br />
to CAT5 UTP cable via a 1:1 transformer.<br />
The transceiver’s transmitter includes on-chip the pulse shaper and low power line driver. The<br />
receiver incorporates a sophisticated combination of real-time adaptive equalization, an<br />
adaptive DC offset adjustment circuit and baseline wander correction. Smart squelch circuitry<br />
further improves the receiver’s noise rejection. Full featured autonegotiation or parallel detect<br />
modes are supported.<br />
