**SQL <strong>Server</strong> 2005 or 2008 no longer supplies the development tools or library that is<br />
required to support the Native API Interface. <strong>Microsoft</strong> recommends that you use OLE<br />
DB or ODBC <strong>for</strong> access to SQL <strong>Server</strong> 2005 or 2008. However, if you had the Native API<br />
Interface in use on your system with SQL <strong>Server</strong> 7, the corresponding .dll <strong>for</strong> that<br />
interface can be used with SQL <strong>Server</strong> 2005 or 2008 in 32-bit mode.<br />
Note: Customers that use the Sun Java VM with Internet Explorer must use version<br />
1.4.2 or higher.<br />
To install one of the available <strong>Business</strong> <strong>In<strong>for</strong>mation</strong> <strong>Server</strong> client/server interfaces on a<br />
workstation, ensure that your workstation is running one of the following:<br />
• <strong>Windows</strong> XP Professional (32-bit)<br />
• <strong>Windows</strong> Vista <strong>Business</strong> (32-bit or 64-bit)<br />
• <strong>Windows</strong> 7 (32-bit or 64-bit)<br />
To access <strong>Business</strong> <strong>In<strong>for</strong>mation</strong> <strong>Server</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>Microsoft</strong> <strong>Windows</strong> level 11.1 from a<br />
workstation, you need to install both of the following software packages:<br />
• Graphical Interface <strong>for</strong> <strong>Business</strong> <strong>In<strong>for</strong>mation</strong> <strong>Server</strong> level 5.4, which is included on<br />
the BIS <strong>for</strong> <strong>Windows</strong> CD<br />
• <strong>Business</strong> <strong>In<strong>for</strong>mation</strong> <strong>Server</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>Microsoft</strong> <strong>Windows</strong> Personal Edition level 11.1<br />
