Dear Alan,
I write for two reasons Firstly, because we really d ~d appreciate
your time given to us and your explanation of the whole changeover
and tour of the offices We thank you most sincerely for that
Secondly, we had heard criticism of the huild~ng, particularly
NATIONALS OFFICE
Wh~lsr returning from iheTaste Nat~onals B3b. Lyn Bruce and I
detoured v.a 3 Essex Streer ro have a look a! our Narlonal Oi!!ce
We found Ala~ and the g~rls working and recetved a ivarr
welcome and were given a conducted tour of the separate offices.
tea room and storage room with full explanations of the workings of
the whole th~ng.
Although there appears to be a lot of wasted space at present,
when the partitions are rearranged for more funct~onal use, that
should create a good display area for trophies and the honour
board.
We thank Alan and the girls for their time and explanation of the
sale, the purchase and function of the office, and recommend that
any shooters, when in Melbourne find an hour and have a look at
the ACTA office. We were suitably impressed.
However, 1 hope that an eye-catching sign has been ordered for
outside to tell all that it is the home of the ACTA (I forgot to ask that
question).
Editor's Note: I am pleased to be able to advise the writer that an
honour board is underway courtesy of a donation from the
NSWCTA and a suitable sign denoting the building to being the
National Office of the Association is also pelng arranged.
EDITOR'S MAILBOX
I phoned the Pres~dent of my lccal club and was told due to Jay-
I.ght savlng ending a1 that time that the sho31 lvould start at llam
but he would be on the grounds at 10 30am
11.15am arrived and they finally arrived
I asked the Pres~dent (very politely) what happened as he had
told me he would be there at 10 30am He answered very rudely.
'Don t start picking assoon as we arrtve as vie t.ad a lot to do to try
and organise a shoot."
Hav~ng received such an answer I left the club and dld not shoot
I would have thought that with the decline m shoot~ng nowadays
that clubs would be trylng to encourage shooters and not turn them
awav - -,
Maybe thls club should take a lesson m courtesy
