Current Research Projects:
1. Principal Investigator of the project “Education as a Lifelong Process – Comparing
Educational Trajectories in Modern Societies" (eduLIFE) funded by the European
Research Council (ERC). The eduLIFE project is worth 2.5 Mio. Euro and will start in
June 2011 (with a duration 5 years), European University Institute, Florence.
2. Coordinator of the DFG Priority Programme 1646 “Education as a Lifelong Process.”
There are two funding periods: The first one is from January 2012 until the end of
2014 and the second one is from January 2015 until the end of 2017. The budget of for
this programme is 5.5 Million Euro.
3. Co-Director (together Prof. Moshe Semyonov & Prof. Noah Lewin-Epstein, both Tel
Aviv University) of the German-Israeli-Foundation (GIF) project “Household Wealth
Inequality in International Comparison” from 2010-2012; Fund about 160,000
