Big Sky Meadow Village artWalk is July 7 – 8
BIG SKY— Mark your calendar for the fourth annual
Big Sky Meadow Village ArtWalk, July 7 – 8.
Building on its previous successes, this showcase
of Montana sculptors, painters and photographers
is now two days instead of one. The event will
feature artists whose work reflects the Montana

Pint Size Picassos
through a new program called Pint size Picassos,
morningstar learning Center staff members
will host art activities for children during
the meadow village artwalk. the yellowstone
Club Community Foundation is sponsoring the
program, which will be held from 1 – 3 p.m.

The B-Side Players July 12
The B-Side Players are traveling
from San Diego to kick off the
Arts Council's free Thursday
night concert series on July 12 at
7 p.m. The band's 10th album,
Revolutionize, is an organic blend
of Latin funk, reggae, cumbia and
soul. As an eight-piece band, the
B-Side Players are known for igniting
crowds with fierce rhythms

consciousness.

Held in the height of summer, the ArtWalk is
hosted among the businesses of Big Sky’s Meadow
Village Center, from noon – 7 p.m. on Saturday
and noon – 5 p.m. on Sunday. Visitors and art
lovers this year will have more time to interact
with the artists and businesses, and browse the
work that artists carefully transported to Big Sky
to put on display.
“The ArtWalk is a combination of fun,” said
JoDean Bing, a member of the planning committee.
“You have the opportunity to meet Montana
artists and see their work firsthand as well as
socialize in the Meadow Village Center.”
Business hosting artists will also provide refreshments
like wine, food and other beverages. These
businesses include Big Sky Furniture, Big Sky
Health and Fitness, Blue Ribbon Builders, ERA
Landmark Real Estate, First Place Pub, Horse of a
Different Color, Outlaw Partners, Redleaf Consulting
and Big Sky Sotheby’s.
As with the winter ArtWalk, live bands will play
during the event.
BIG SKY – One of the region’s
hottest live rock and soul bands,
Freddy Pink, will be back in town
on Wednesday, July 4. Hosted at
the Town Center Park, the free
show will start at 7 p.m.
A nine-piece rhythm and blues/
funk band from Seattle. Freddy
Pink performs standards and originals
in an energetic, professional
live show. This is the third year
running the band has played in Big
Sky.
BIG SKY – Celebrities from across the
country have signed on to play in the
11th annual Big Brothers Big Sisters
Celebrity Golf Tournament, July 15 -
16. Held at the Big Sky Golf Course,
the event is also open to the public.
This year’s celebrity lineup includes
MSU head basketball coach, Brad
Huse, and Eric Dickerson, six-time probowl
and five-time all pro running back
for the Los Angeles Rams. New to the
list this year is well-known Western
artist Tom Gilleon, who also donated an
original oil for auction.
The two-day event begins with a
cocktail party and silent auction at 7
p.m. on Sunday evening, July 15, at
Big Sky Weekly

showing her artwork at the Outlaw Partners office
during the big sky artwalk.
freddy Pink kicks off Big Sky
free summer music series July 4
Doors open at 6 p.m. Coolers are permitted
into the venue, but no glass or
pets. There will also be kids’ activities,
including a climbing wall and inflatable
bouncer from Airtime Inflatables from
6 – 9 p.m. The night will end with a
fireworks show.
The nonprofit Arts Council of Big Sky
is hosting the show as a kick off to its
summer music series. The free Thursday
night concerts will run July 12 – Sept. 6

Big Brothers Big Sisters Celebrity
golf Tournament, July 15-16
the Big Sky Resort Summit Hotel. The
golf tournament follows the next day,
with a 1 p.m. shotgun start at the Big
Sky Golf Course. Individual player and
team slots are still available.
Big Brothers Big Sisters is a mentoring
program that provides children
facing adversity with strong, enduring,
professionally supported one-to-one
relationships. This event benefits the
Big Sky satellite office of Big Brothers
Big Sisters of Gallatin County, which
currently serves five new school-based
matches and six community-based
matches.
