90 Years of VGB – Ruhr 2010 – Capital of Culture, Essen – Zeche Zollverein
VGB was founded in 1920. Its 90th anniversary gives us the reason to celebrate a birthday party. The idea
of the founders continues to be valid. The work of VGB is highly appreciated by its members in Germany,
Europe and worldwide.
Essen is one of Europe’s culture capitals of the year 2010, and Zeche Zollverein one of its landmarks, listed
by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage in December 2001.
Up to 1987 it produced the coal which is needed to fire power plants. There is no better place for the
birthday party of VGB.
Be our guest for a journey into the past back to 1920. The
Ensemble Six
Vocal Piano Sextet
will perform a potpourri of piano melodies and and a-capella singing typical for that time.
A festive dinner will lead you through the culinary world of the 1920ies.
Another band
Shaggy Dad
will take us back to modern times by performing the music of the sixties, seventies and eighties:
Beat, rock and pop.

The price for the participation in the Gala Evening is 95.– Euro (incl. VAT).
