En route, the tour passes the UNESCO World Heritage Site Zollverein, Villa Hügel and the Krupp Belt with the new Thyssen Krupp Headquarters. A special site to visit is the Schurenbach former mining waste heap, which was transformed into a “landmark” during the Emscherpark International Building Exhibition. On the plateau at the top, there is now an almost 15-metre tall steel sculpture by the artist Richard Serra, entitled “Bramme for the Ruhr District”. The view from this point is also truly unique.
