City tour through the city. En route, the tour passes the UNESCO World Heritage Site Zollverein, Villa Hügel
and the Krupp Belt with the new Thyssen Krupp Headquarters. A special site to visit is the Schurenbach
former mining waste heap, which was transformed into a “landmark” during the Emscherpark International
Building Exhibition. On the plateau at the top, there is now an almost 15-metre tall steel sculpture by the
artist Richard Serra, entitled “Bramme for the Ruhr District”. The view from this point is also truly unique.

such important structural monuments as the Lichtburg Film Art Cinema,
the Baedeker House, the Grillo-Theater and visit amongst other things the
1000-year-old Essener Cathedral, the former main church of a significant
convent.
