Youth Conference in Yasothon, THAILAND, Is Encouragement to Pastor: Area pastor<br />
Choom, at Yasothon, reports God's blessing upon a youth conference held at Khoke<br />
Ngam. "There were nineyouthswho accepted the Lord Jesus," Pastor Choom states,<br />
"--<strong>and</strong> the food was sufficient. Praise the ~ord!"<br />
THAILAND Youth Effort Results in Three Conversions: Fifty<br />
young people turned out for a special youth emphasis in Korat.<br />

Three of them prayed to receive Christ <strong>and</strong> many others showed<br />
great interest. Meanwhile a Korat teacher, Boon Nak, <strong>and</strong> his<br />
wife, Tawee, responded during a Sunday morning church service.<br />
That evening they were baptized, together with five others.<br />
VIET NAM Missionaries, Meeting in Annual Conference, Hear Good News <strong>and</strong> Bad: Six<br />
new churches organized in the city of Saigon, record enrollments at all three Bible<br />
schools <strong>and</strong> thous<strong>and</strong>s of Stieng <strong>Christian</strong>s receiving training in evangelism were<br />
among the encouraging reports at the recent missionary conference in Viet Nam. But<br />
there was troubling news, too. Only one missionary couple works among two million<br />
Cambodians in the Delta, the three captive missionaries continue unaccounted for,<br />
Saigon remains one of the most underchurched cities in free Asia <strong>and</strong> <strong>Christian</strong>ity<br />
has penetrated less than 1 percent of the total population of Viet Nan.<br />
COLOMBIAN Immigrant Shares Christ in Italy: Pedro Cosa, a mem-<br />
ber of the Italian underground during World War 11, returned to<br />
Italy for a special reunion. Following the showing of "Jesus<br />
Christ Superstar," the evening's entertainment, he rose to ad-<br />
dress the group. "You haven't seen anything like the truth,"<br />
he told the nationally televised gathering. Pulling out his<br />
New Testament, he said, "Here is the truth!" <strong>and</strong> proceeded to<br />
preach the gospel. In Colombia Mr. Cosa has had an effective<br />
witness ministry among businessmen. Several have been saved.<br />
Pifty-one Indians Baptized in One Day in ECUADOR: A movement of unusual propor-<br />
tions is taking place among the Otavalo Indians of the Ecuadorian Andes. Mission-<br />
aries project that in the next five to seven years at least 10 percent of the es-<br />
timated 120,000 Indians could be won to Christ--if workers can be found. The field<br />
conference has issued an immediate urgent request for eight new couples.<br />
HONG KONG Memorial Chapel to Be Completed Next Month: The<br />
Alumni Memorial Chapel of the <strong>Alliance</strong> Bible Seminary in Hong<br />
Kong will be finished in August, according to projections. It<br />
will not be dedicated, however, while any indebtedness remains.<br />
Six Hundred First-Time Professions Is Record of HONG KONG Camp: Suen Douh Camp re-<br />
ports unusual results in its four-day youth camps. Of the 1,400 who have attended<br />
recently, approximately 600 have made first-time decisions for Christ. Some who<br />
were converted last year paid the costs for friends to attend this season.<br />
With Health Needs: Miss Hazel - Beack (Laos) is making encouraging<br />
progress in West Palm Beach from her earlier stroke, is<br />
able to write a little but cannot yet speak; Mrs. Gordon-<br />
-<br />
man (Indonesia) is reported in critical condition following<br />
surgery which revealed severe liver damage; Rev. Jack Davidson<br />
(Japan) has been hospitalized with a duodenal ulcer; Rev. Don-<br />
ald Gibbons (Irian Jaya) has been flown to a Darwin, Australia,<br />
hospital for treatment of an eye injury.
