Mrs. Wagner have become the parents <strong>of</strong> a daughter, Nellie<br />

Deloras, born May 24, 1895. The parents are members <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Evangelical church, in which Mr. Wagner serves as trustee. He<br />

gives his political allegiance to the republican party and is now<br />

townshi^D assessor, filling this <strong>of</strong>fice with credit and abihty. He is<br />

well known in Bradford township, where he has spent his entire<br />

life, and he has won a place among representative agriculturists<br />

and useful citizens.<br />

EDWARD E. WINGERT.<br />

Edward E. Wingert, an active practitioner at the bar <strong>of</strong> <strong>Lee</strong><br />

county, his ability finding ready I'ecognition in a large and distinctively<br />

representative clientage, was born in <strong>Lee</strong> county November<br />

13, 1866, his pai'onts lieing Walter J. and Mary C.<br />

(Emmoit) Wingert, natives <strong>of</strong> Ohio and (»f Maryland respectively.<br />

It was in the year 1852 that the father came to <strong>Illinois</strong>, settling in<br />

<strong>Lee</strong> county, where he reared his family.<br />

Edward E. Wingei't obtained a ]>ublic school education in<br />

Dixon, while his pr<strong>of</strong>essional training was received in the Uni-<br />

versity <strong>of</strong> Michigan, being graduated from the law depaiinient<br />

with the class <strong>of</strong> 1889. He tanght language in the Northern <strong>Illinois</strong><br />

Normal school for two years and was also a teacher in a law<br />

school for three years. He has since practiced in Dixon and has<br />

gained a creditable place amc^ig the representative members <strong>of</strong><br />

the bar. His ability is pronoimced and comes from his careful<br />

preparation <strong>of</strong> cases, his thorough analysis, his close reasoning<br />

and his logical deductions. He has been connected with many<br />

important suits that have been heard in the courts and has won<br />

many verdicts favorable to his clients.<br />

Tn 1892 Mr. Wingert was married to Miss Bessie Boardman,<br />

and they have become the parents <strong>of</strong> four children : Marjorie,<br />

Bessie, Edward B. and Mary Constance. The family attend the<br />

Methodist Episcopal church <strong>of</strong> which Mr. and Mrs. Wingert are<br />

members. Tn politics he is republican, well informed concerning<br />

the questions and issues <strong>of</strong> the day. He has never sought nor held<br />

<strong>of</strong>fice, however, outside <strong>of</strong> the strict path <strong>of</strong> his pr<strong>of</strong>ession. In<br />

1890 he was elected city attorney and served for three years, when<br />

in 1902 he was again chosen for that position, which he filled for<br />

two years. He regards the pursuits <strong>of</strong> private life as abundantly
