Behind The Scenes At Mount Vernon<br />
was the Director<br />
of Plant and Maintenance at Mount Vernon for a<br />
number of years. Before he left the college at the<br />
end of May <strong>1979</strong>, Mr. Combs had answered many<br />
service calls, often at any time of day or night.<br />
Mrs. Joan Combs was the Gatehouse Operator<br />
this year, responding many times a day to the buzz<br />
of the gatehouse phone.<br />
