TERRy DARBy With a Song in my Heart After thinking about it for some time, I have decided to hang up my microphone and no longer host karaoke at Spurline on Thursday nights. I have had 5 1/2 wonderful years of listening to some of the greatest voices and...okay, a few of the not so great. But the best thing about our karaoke has always been that I used the term “we have no heroes here.” Everyone was welcome to sing and everyone was applauded for their efforts. First time singers, some nervous and excited, always walked off the stage with a smile. They did it! I want to thank the owners of Spurline Jim and Michael from the bottom of my heart. Who knew that when you asked me to sub a few times until you found someone permanently, that all this time would pass? You have always been fair with me and have praised my work as a host and singer. You are both the best. What would I have done without my amazing friend Christopher Durbin, my “partner in crime” behind the bar on so many Thursday nights? You have a beautiful voice and soul and I’ll miss our duets. To Jason, Terry, Stephen and all the other Thursday night guys, you were all the nicest reason to come to work. I hope all you singers will come see Jeff at karaoke on Sunday nights. My friend, you are the coolest! I will be there to croon a tune with you when I can. Finally, to all my regular and faithful singers, thank you for coming back time after time, year after year. You are all in my heart...with a song! Love to all my Spurline family and friends. Thelma housTon Grammy Award winning singer, Thelma Houston, will perform at the second annual Disco Tea Dance to benefit AIDS Assistance Program on Sunday, <strong>September</strong> 29.
