Early and Periodic Screen<strong>in</strong>g, Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT)-- The Early Periodic<br />

Screen<strong>in</strong>g, Diagnosis, and Treatment (EPSDT) Program is the child health component <strong>of</strong><br />

Medicaid. It's required <strong>in</strong> every state and is designed to improve the health <strong>of</strong> low-<strong>in</strong>come<br />

children, by f<strong>in</strong>anc<strong>in</strong>g appropriate and necessary pediatric services. EPSDT is designed to<br />

address physical, mental, and developmental health needs. Screen<strong>in</strong>g services ―to detect<br />

physical and mental conditions‖ must be covered at periodic <strong>in</strong>tervals, as well as diagnostic<br />

Emergency Prescription Assistance – Religious Coalition <strong>for</strong> Emergency Human <strong>Needs</strong><br />

(27 Degrange St., <strong>Frederick</strong>, MD 21701) The Emergency Prescription Assistance Program<br />

provides short-term emergency proscription assistance to <strong>Frederick</strong> County residents that<br />

are un<strong>in</strong>sured or lack adequate prescription coverage. Clients must be referred by a<br />

<strong>in</strong>come are eligible. Medical services are provided through the HealthChoice Program, a<br />
