IN OLYMPIC LEGACY TRIP<br />

Just months after the <strong>Laureus</strong> World Sports<br />

Awards visited Rio, some very special Sport for<br />

Good Foundation project members from the<br />

Brazilian state made a life-changing journey<br />

of their own.<br />

Young People from the <strong>Laureus</strong>-supported Luta Pela Paz<br />

(Fight for Peace) Boxing Academy journeyed to sister project<br />

Fight for Peace in east London to learn about each other,<br />

how they both use martial arts for social good and to build<br />

even stronger links as a legacy of the London 2012 and<br />

upcoming Rio 2016 Olympic Games.<br />

The exchange programme ran from May 27 to June 3 and<br />

saw seven Brazilian Youth Council Members aged between<br />

16-30 visit the London academy situated in the shadow of<br />

the London Olympic Park.<br />

One of those young people was a very talented young<br />

boxer named Wanderson. Before he arrived, 16-year-old<br />

Wanderson, or ‘Sugar’ to those who know him best, said:<br />

“I am really excited about seeing the Fight for Peace<br />

academy here in London and to meet our friends in the UK.
