The mission <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Gallatin</strong> Valley Food Bank is to improve food security throughout the <strong>Gallatin</strong><br />

Valley. The Food Bank exists to help people who have an emergency need for food. Emergency need<br />

means that the family has run out <strong>of</strong> food and has no funds or food stamps to purchase food items.<br />

Because there is a limited supply, it is able to honor requests for food assistance only once every<br />

thirty (30) days.<br />

Services/Programs<br />

Meals on Wheels are delivered by volunteer drivers to homebound seniors living in Bozeman.<br />

Frozen meals may be delivered in advance for weekends and holidays by request. Diabetic meals<br />

are also available on request.<br />

Arrangements can be made to pick up bulk frozen Meals-­‐On-­‐Wheels for individuals living in rural<br />

areas throughout <strong>Gallatin</strong> <strong>County</strong>.<br />

Services are provided to the following eligible applicants:<br />

People who live together and buy food and prepare meals together are grouped as a “household”<br />

for SNAP. Husbands and wives, and children under age 22 living with their natural, adoptive or<br />

stepparents must be considered as one household.<br />

Household members that wish to be included must be U.S. citizens or legal aliens.<br />

Household members that wish to be included must furnish or apply for a social security number.<br />

Income and resource guidelines listed in this overview must be met.<br />

Able-­‐bodied household members who are age 16 through 59 must register for work, and may be<br />

required to participate in a SNAP Employment and Training Program unless a specified<br />

exemption is met.<br />
