Das Nachbild ist eine Illusion. Illusion
vermischt sich mit Realität.
Wenn sie wachsen wird Schönheit
geboren.
The afterimage is an illusion. Illusion
mixes with a reality. When they
increase, beauty is born.
Yusuke Nakajima: Japanese filmmaker.
I am interested in extracting
various phenomena existing in the
world, and picturizing these. In addition,
I sometimes perform a performance
with a video and sound.
Der Heldenbariton Hans Hotter macht 1943 eine Einspielung von Schuberts
Winterreise in Berlin.
In 1943, the heroic baritone Hans Hotter made a recording of Schubert's
Winterreise in Berlin. At the same time, the Germans were closing in on
Stalingrad. (...) Snow flurry. solo - 612.43 is a night shot documentation –
we are mainly familiar with these images from the first Gulf war – equal
to an »unplugged re-enactment« of the installation 612.43WEISS in the
same installation at a moment when all gadgets are paused: It is a spring
night in 2006. I am standing inside my installation, have paused the video
and, alone, perform the memory of my digital installation against the
empty, white screen. While doing so, a small Sony-DV camera films in
night shot mode on autofocus in portrait format.
