bomber, the B-24 liberator. There will
be a guided tour of the restoration &

lea gardens were considered by many
the finest in the colony. The property was
remarkably ‘green’, including an efficient
water harvesting and drainage system,
a stable waste and sewage treatment
capacity and treated effluent that was
pumped onto the gardens as fertiliser.

substance. it is the fundamental element
that enables and sustains all life on earth,
but possess’ a deadly and destructive
power. since the nineteenth century,
water and its environs have presented
an endlessly fascinating subject for
photographers. This exhibition, drawn
from the collection of the National
gallery of victoria, will be in two sections,
freshwater and saltwater, and will include
photographs of; Antarctica, seascapes
and coastal scenes, inland water ways
and rivers, and images of swimming
and bathing.
