Brownie & Guide News
Here are some activities
for Brownies, Guides and
Pathfinders during Guide-
Scout Week, Feb. 21-27. All
OUT groups will come to the
Thinking Day Rally on Wednesday,
Feb. 24 at Glebe-St.
James Church Hall, 6:15 to
8 pm. Each unit will make
a presentation about Guiding
in another country. There
are more than 118 countries
in the World Association of
Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.
Friday, Feb. 26 there will
be an evening of campfire
songs at Billings Bridge Plaza
(near Robinson's), 7-8 pm.
All girls in uniform are wel-
come to attend. Saturday,
Feb. 27 the public is invited
to visit the Girl Guide
display at Billings during
shopping hours. Say hello to
some of our girls and leaders
from Lansdowne District from
12:30 to 2 p.m.

Glebe Co-op Playgroup
Valentine surprise

Valentine's Day is almost
here! The children at
the Glebe Co-Operative
Playgroup are very busy
making surprises for our
families and friends. Although
we all enjoy making
the special cards, the
children's favorite part
is being able to hand deliver
them to our wonderful
friends at the Glebe Community
Centre. And there
certainly are a lot of nice
people at the community
centre to whom we would
like to wish a Happy Valentine's
Day.
We all had a surprise of
a different kind recently
when our gerbils became
parents! "Pete" and "Repeat"
had four babies
while visiting with Arthur
White and his family. The
gerbils arrived at Playgroup
to be greeted by
children and adults alike,
all eager to see some
fascinating little babies.
The gerbils have grown
rather quickly and will
soon be moving to their
new homes. From all the
attention the children have
been showing them it is easy
to tell that they will be
missed. However, we may

not have to wait long before
the gerbils are caring
for new babies. It
seems gerbils enjoy being
parents!
LIMITED SPACES AVAILABLE
The Glebe Co-Operative
Playgroup has a limited
number of spaces available
for January through June
'93. The Playgroup offers
a licensed preschool program
for children 18 months
to 5 years of age.
Toddlers enjoy our Tuesday/
Thursday morning program
which offers sensory activities,
art, sandbox, blocks,
a dress-up area, stories
and cirple time.
Preschoolers enjoy similar
activities in our Monday/
Wednesday/Friday morning
program.
Our morning program hours
are 9:00-11:30. We offer
an afternoon program for
preschoolers aged 3 and up.
Our afternoon program includes
a wide variety of
field trips as well as having
"special visitors" come
to playgroup. It operates
Monday through Thursdays
from 1:00 - 3:30 p.m.
