Piste signs
Exactly the same as in road
traffic, specific symbols must
be observed on the slopes. For
this reason it is sensible to obtain
a plan of the pistes. These
plans are normally on display at
the cash desks of the lift stations.
Blue Run (beginner):
These are most suitable
for beginners;
although more advanced
skiers can also
have fun on the blue
runs. They are not very
steep, and are pretty even. In
this example, number “2b” is the
piste number.
Downhill Run (advanced):
Runs marked in yellow
1 are only suitable for
competent skiers and
boarders. These slopes
are neither inspected
nor prepared. Those who would
like to try a downhill run should
be capable of skiing in deep snow
in difficult steep conditions.
Closed:
GESPERRT
CLOSED
Pistes marked in this
way are closed for all
winter sports-persons.
It is possible that
the piste is in bad
condition or there is
an avalanche risk.
Red Run (intermediate):
These pistes should
only be used by beginners
if the skier has
good visibility of the
entire slope. Normally,
on a beginners ski course a
red slope will only be attempted
after 4-5 days of tuition. These
pistes can be steep and uneven
in places.
4a
Black Pisten (advanced):
Black runs are only suitable
for experienced
3
skiers. Beginners
should avoid these slopes
at all cost as they
are normally very steep
and/or uneven.
Forest and game protected
area (cordoned off)
In the interest of protecting the
environment and natural habitat
of wild animals, please do not ski
in cordoned off areas.
Dangerous Area
Dangerous areas, for example
large ice patches,
rocks in the piste or similar
are marked with this
flag.
