A ‘Cool’ Career<br />

Chandrabhushan hails from a weavers’ family and acquired a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce. He<br />

could not pursue higher studies because of the poor financial situation of the family.<br />

He wanted to start a business but was not clear about type of business that he could take up. At that<br />

point of time, he went to Rajam to help his brother in electrical winding works and came to know<br />

‘Career’ Focussed<br />

After Jyoti’s father passed away, her mother<br />

herself performing better in class as well. She had<br />

worked in a small plasticware shop to support<br />

as a Data Operator. Jyoti now has<br />

a good job and also a Bachelor of<br />

a decent and steady salary. Jyoti<br />

Development (NIRED) and applied for training in<br />

Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC). He was<br />

selected for the course and learnt the aspects of<br />

trade. Soon he became confident of attending to<br />

complaints and after the completion of training,<br />

Chandrabhushan took over an RAC servicing<br />

center from his uncle’s friend and put in remarkable<br />

efforts to create a good customer base. He worked<br />

hard to deliver the orders in time and gained a<br />

good reputation in his business circle.<br />

Recently, Reliance Communications had also<br />

offered him the AMC for the maintenance of<br />

Mobile Towers at Srikakulam District.<br />

Chandrabhushan is now earning well through<br />

these AMCs, regular servicing and repairing works.<br />

He has provided employment to two unemployed<br />

youth at his shop and plans to expand his business<br />

by opening another branch at Srikakulam.<br />
