12 THE MATERIALS’ TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS The careful choice of materials with which Emac profi les are manufactured is the main reason for the high quality of these products. Comprehensive tests are carried out on their composition, strength, color and other factors. These are carried out in Emac® and REDIT technological institutes (The Network of Technological Institutes of Valencia) to ensure the qualities and useful properties of each batch manufactured. 1.4301 (WNR.) STAINLESS STEEL AISI 304 (V2A) Exceptional quality stainless steel certifi ed by AIMME (the Metalworking Technology Institute) by means of a LECO CS 230 elemental analyzer and JY Ultima 2 inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrophotometry, following standards for each batch. It passes salt spray corrosion tests with excellent results. The fi nishes available are high gloss, brushed and the innovative Emac® Futura range which, due to its titanium, increases the mechanical strength and rust resistance of stainless steel, providing a unique color that is remarkable for its beauty. ALUMINUM (EN-AW-6063) The alloy used in Emac® aluminum profi les is 6063. The N-Listel Texturas and N-Listel Crystal types use the 1050A alloy, with similar properties. The anodized procedure is certifi ed and carried out according to the strict guidelines of the quality brand QUALANOD (EWAA/EURAS). The lacquering procedure is certifi ed and carried out according to the strict guidelines of the quality brand QUALICOAT. Coating is carried out with technology for checking on microbiological deterioration carried out with the utmost meticulousness. It is long-lasting and active against bacteria, fungi, yeasts and molds. MAXI This material is WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) composed of PVC and vegetable fi bers. The formulation was developed exclusively through Emac®’s innovative work to continuously improve in order to attain the best properties for many applications. This is an environmentally friendly material that uses recycled agricultural waste to obtain a high quality product with advantages that have been certifi ed by several technological institutes in REDIT. Because some of the raw material is natural, there may be differences in hues that should not be considered to be manufacturing defects. Fitting Maxi outdoors may lead to a natural change in its original color, with an appreciably greater range of earthy colors. To avoid these possible variations in color when faced with continuous exposure to sunlight, we recommend fi tting the Maxi range indoors. For outdoors, we recommend the MaxiKenya range, which has excellent weather resistance and is unaffected by exposure to the sun. Maxi has a characteristic rough or grooved surface (in MaxiKenya) which gives it a high slip resistance that has been tested and certified according to the UNE-ENV 12633:2003 standard and according to the DIN 51130 standard for transit with shoes. METHACRYLATE Emac® Methacrylate profi les are very resistant to weather and humid or submerged conditions, so they are ideal for use in swimming pools. Material technical features 12 WOOD The profiles made of natural wood are tough, extremely durable and add warmth and elegance to the areas where they are fitted. The profiles are delivered untreated, so it is necessary to give them suitable protection. Because it is natural, there are often small variations in hues or wood grain and slight curvatures. For outdoor fittings, we recommend Iroko, Tali or Mahogany. NATURAL TECHNICAL CORK Emac®’s technical cork is a material with excellent qualities for use in our products. These qualities are tested by technology institutes: low density, impermeability, elasticity, fi re resistance, dimensional stability and it does not disintegrate through wear. It is sustainable in line with Emac®’s Sustainable Commitment. BRASS Brass is a copper and zinc alloy of great beauty. Its unique golden color sets it apart from other metals and makes it highly decorative. It requires careful maintenance, which can be consulted in the Technical Specifi cations. Given its good physical and mechanical properties, it can be fi tted on fl ooring or wall coverings, giving optimum protection. PVC Emac® PVC profi les are made of high quality raw material. They do not corrode or change size and are extremely resistant to chemicals. The color may change in outdoor fi ttings.
