Hi-Tec TEACHING RESOURCES Students are now growing up in a digital age where they have constant exposure to a variety of media. Incorporating technology into the classroom is really important nowadays, since students today are considered “Digital Natives” because they were born and raised in a digital environment so therefore they inherently think different because of this exposure. Teachers must be aware of their student‟s motivation in order to successfully implement technology into the classroom, since students are more motivated to learn more when they are interested in the subject matter. So, by having media or technology resources such as computers and internet, we can make our classes more dynamic and interesting and make our students more enthusiastic. Sometimes, or when it is possible to assign our students online tasks or exercises, it allows those students who might need extra help to better understand materials or topics outside the classroom. Incorporating technology into the classroom can also allow teachers to effectively organize the present lessons. Multimedia presentations can make the class more meaningful and engaging since having a computer in the classroom is an asset to any teacher because with a computer teachers are able to demonstrate a new lesson, present new materials and show new websites and video clips by not using the public internet.
Topic: Educational Technology World MIGUEL ANGEL GUZMAN (ADVANCED LEVEL) General Objective: To show students a wide variety of activities involving technology into the classroom so that they can differentiate the existing differences between traditional classes and using-technology classes. Specific Objective 1: Students will be able to socialize with a technological environment while being taught about the topic itself, involving resources for them to learn not only about the topic but also about applying it among the class. Specific Objective 2: At the end of this lesson, students will be able to apply the knowledge acquired in the class and also the previous knowledge they already have about it in general. Presentation Stage (15 min): - The teacher introduces the topic by showing some technological items in the classroom and making up a list of them. - The teacher elicits pronunciation according to each item from the vocabulary list. - A video concerning to technology is played. Warm-up (15 min): Make up sentences with the conditional “IF” by using the pictures and clues given by the teacher. Instructions: - Get in groups of three - Take turns to describe a picture or making up a sentence. - Use pictures and identify which one is which. Guiding questions, structures or functions: - You use the conditional “IF - Then you call a person (if you…) - You finish the first clause with another showing the result of the condition.
