The letters invited people to Come to a public hearing on Saturday, October 18, starting at one p.m. The purpose of the hearing was io give taxpayers a chance to express their views about the preliminary* figures which the Board of Alley Assessors were preparing. Now, the thousands of eopies of the letter will have io be thrown away = or the Board of Alley Assessors will have to cross out October 18 and insert some other date. What the date will be nobody at City Hall seems to know. The Board of Alley Assessors is made up of John A. Bryson, chairman, William R, Brown, Joseph S, Kruk, James E.
