Revolution on campuses
Revolution is an insurrection, an act of violence by
which one class overthrows another. This threatened
disorder is not confined to the college campus. We see
the seeds of rebellion on every front of American life.
A California conpessman has said, "1 found a
profound and unprecedented
feeling of anger,
frustration, anxiety, and deep helplessness throughout
the United States.
"Rampant pessimism is remarkable in its breadth and
frightening in its magnitude. It exceeds in intensity any
generalized public attitude that I have experienced in
my career in government."
The late Dag Hammarskjold said, "I see no hope for
permanent world peace. VVe've tried so hard and foiled
so miserably. Unless the world experiences a spiritual
rebirth within the next few years, we are doomed."
Yet how many more wars, burned cities, suicides,
rapes, and murders will it take before we realize that
man is not basically good. How hypocritical it is, to
think that, in view of the defeat of our dying society,
we are basically good!
What the world needs today is nothing less than a
spiritual rebirth. Today tens of thousands of college
students are joining a spiritual movement headed by the
peatest leader of them all • Jesus Christ. His movement,
in contrast to the rnjj^ejMn^jjf^yTjsjajyraniJtjJi^jipt
Ba3#^TrponTfeaFand forceTbut is motivated by love and
reason .Selfishness, prejudice, hate, peed, and lust are
among the problems that must be solved if man is to be
changed- and Christ offers the solution.
One student at a California State College says "To us
life is exciting. To live a day-by-day life in Jesus Christ
by his power is hard to describe as there are not enough
adjectives to convey the supreme sense of inner peace
and contentment that we feel."
Look around the world-for what are we crying? A
cause! We want something we can sink our teeth into
and become a part of. As we proclaim spiritual
revolution challenging students who ever lived, they
become interested. We are revolutionist for Jesus Christ,
and we intend to let the upcoming generations know
about him. We proclaim Jesus Christ as a Person who
can come into a life and change it completly making
that life into what the individual always wanted to be.
We want to change the world - change it for the
better and change it now! We need to move with
direction. Jesus Christ alone provides the direction that
we need. He Is tiie author of the solution. Now as never
before we must allow him to control our lives and work
through us.. Our World can't wait much longer!
You can help to change the world by becoming
involved with the students in our school and with the
millions of other students in this country - in the
revolution of love.
The hour is far too cirtical to remain a spectator.
Today is the day for action. Make your commitment
now!
Ocean City Hip;h School.
On October 9 there was a
panel discussion amoni four
student teachers from thu
school. These teachers wore
Miss Bergren, Mr. Banp. Mt.
Their comments were amusing
and yet helpful igiving the FTA
members a goati idea of what it
is like to be a student teacher.
There are still .many
activities which will occur
through the remainder of the
year. Thanks to'Mrs. Boyd and
the members of the FTA the
year for this organization has
