“Go Bag” - A “ go bag” is a survival kit recommended <strong>for</strong> all individuals/families in case there is a need<br />

to evacuate. A “go bag” should include:<br />

Water and non-perishable food<br />

Battery operated radio and batteries to get important in<strong>for</strong>mation from local <strong>of</strong>fi cials<br />

<strong>First</strong> aid kit<br />

Flashlight<br />

• Maps<br />

Important documents such as pro<strong>of</strong> residence, pictures <strong>of</strong> family members including pets,<br />

insurance policies, and tax records<br />

Com<strong>for</strong>table clothing and blankets<br />

Unique individual/family needs such as prescription medications, personal accommodations<br />

(glasses, hearing aid, cell phone, service animal, walker, wheelchair, durable medical<br />

equipment and supplies, batteries etc.), pet supplies, infant supplies or any other unique needs<br />

the individual/family may have<br />

Incident Command System ( ICS) - a standardized, on-scene, all-hazard incident management<br />

concept. A part <strong>of</strong> the National Incident Management System ( NIMS).
