Whilst the actions of coaches and trainers to get their teams physically ready for the demands of the particular winter sport should be commended – it must be remembered that if a student has a commitment to a summer sport then this takes precedence over any winter sport trials, trainings and meetings. Should a student need to be in 2 places at once then they are to go to the summer sport first and then catch up with the staff member concerned with regards to the winter sport. If any students are unsure of who this is then there is a list of the teachers in charge on the sports noticeboard. Recent Achievements HPC Swimming Champs Another beautifully fine day on the Hauraki Plains greeted the whole junior school as well as those keen seniors for the annual HPC Swimming Champs on Tuesday 7 th February. It was great to see the increase in students entering the championship events which makes for some great racing as well as Hapu rivalry. Congratulations to all who took part – particularly to those students who aren’t that keen on swimming but still managed to get at least a point for your HAPU through participation – well done. After all the data was entered the respective champions for each grade were as follows: 7
