Management Recommendation<br />

Conduct awareness on <strong>the</strong> provision <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

<strong>Forest</strong>ry Act (Division 3. Section 52. Subsection 1<br />

and 2), Fauna (Protection and Control) Act,<br />

<strong>National</strong> Park Act, <strong>Conservation</strong> Area Act in<br />

relation to declaration <strong>of</strong> protected areas and <strong>the</strong><br />

forest types that are included under this provision<br />

In plantation susceptible to fires a “green break”<br />

should be established.<br />

Guidance<br />

Prepare and disseminate awareness materials<br />

and carry out <strong>the</strong> awareness in consultation with<br />

<strong>the</strong>se groups (Prov. Govt., LLG. Schools, Media,<br />

CBO).<br />

Grassland fires-HCV breaks must be at least 20<br />

meters.<br />

<strong>Forest</strong> Fires-HCV breaks must be at least 100<br />

meters.<br />
