8.0 Office accommodation
a) The contractors shall provide and maintain all necessary offices, workshops,
stores, shelters, sanitary facilities, canteens and other temporary structures for
themselves in connections with the work at the site at their own cost after getting
the approval from the Architect/ Consultant.
b) A site office for the use of UBI/ the Architect/ Consultant shall be provided by the
contractors at his own expenses.
c) All temporary buildings and facilities as mentioned above shall be removed on
completion of the work or at any other earlier date as directed by the contractors.

All the expenses for obtaining statutory approvals and maintenance of the above
facilities as wall as running expenses shall be borne by the contractor at no extra
cost. It is also the responsibility of the contractor to obtain statutory approvals for
providing the above facilities
9.0 Facilities for Contractor’s employees:
The contractor shall make his own arrangement for the housing and welfare of
his staff and workmen including adequate drinking water facilities. The contractor
shall also make the arrangement at his own cost for transport where necessary
for his staff and workmen to and from site of work at his own cost.
10.0 Lighting of works:
The contractors shall at all times provide adequate and approved lighting as
required for the proper execution and supervision and inspection of work.
11.0 Fire fighting arrangements:
i) The contractor shall provide suitable arrangement for fire fighting at his own cost.
For this purpose he shall provide requisite number of fire extinguishers and
adequate number of buckets, some of which are to be always kept filled with
sand and some with water. These equipments shall be provided at suitable
prominent and easily accessible places and shall be properly maintained.
ii) Any deficiency in the fire safety or unsafe conditions shall be corrected the
contractor at his own cost and to the approval of the relevant authorities. The
contractor shall make the following arrangements at his own cost but not limited
to the following.
a) Proper handling, storage and disposal of combustible materials and waste.
b) Work operations which can create fire hazards
.
c) Access for fire fighting equipments.
d) Type, number and location of containers for the removal of surplus materials and
rubbish.
