PRACTICES Drigg Conditions for Acceptance? – Each individual consignor must comply with a disposal authorisation issued by the EA or SEPA. – Each consignor has a volumetric limit based on an annual ‘bid for allocation’. – Future waste arising predictions are reviewed every 3 years as part of the Drigg operator’s review of each consignor’s Waste Stream Characterisation Document. 136
PRACTICES Drigg – Institutional Wastes? • Drigg accepts such wastes • BNFL has contracts in place with private and public sector consignors of LLW to Drigg to recovery all costs associated with the disposal of their wastes. • Prices are set for each radionuclide grouping and applied to all consignors. • In addition there is also a charge for volumetric usage. 137
