Contaminated Soil – storage?
• The owner or operator is responsible for decisions on
how or where to store large volumes of radioactively
contaminated soil.
• If the soil is considered to be stored pending future
treatment or disposal then, on nuclear licensed sites,
this will be regulated by HSE under the site licence
as an accumulation of radioactive waste.
